Doing some searching on the web using a new search engine ChaCha.com, I came across a presentation of mine at APRICOT 97 that was discussing Contents on the Internet. It is interesting that 10 years hence, we are seeing how user generated content (like blogs, videos, audiocasts etc) are what is driving a lot of usage on the web. It is nice to know that I was I was more or less correct when in slide 4 I talk about the push model as being more promising. In a sense, RSS is a push initiated via a pull. But I think I was spot on in slide 7 where I say that “niche content is what needs to be seriously looked at – people like to know that they share similar interests with others”.
Cool!
