A couple of weeks ago, I bought a new Sony Playstation 2 – the thinner slicker vesion for S$298. I have been resisting this for a loooonnnng time – my sons had inherited a PS1 from their cousins and while that was OK upto a point, they wanted to play some games that were not doable on the PS1. Hence the purchase. The box clearly states that the games that can be played have to be labelled as NTSC – J. OK I thought.
I did know that this would limit the number of games that can be played. Next stop, to repair the console to allow it to play anything. As a rule, I will only acquire original software – but I reserve the right to fix broken hardware and will not accept the artificial barriers that Sony has put in place on what I can play.
