MS Linux anyone?

Microsoft now wants to get into the anti-virus, anti-spyware business. Hmm. The entire ecosystem of anti-virus and anti-spyware providers exist because of the papermache OS built on clay that Microsoft has burdened the world with. Now that Microsoft has realized that these companies are making money, Microsoft itself cannot resist getting some of the moola.

Something in all that does not make any sense. Could it not have been better for Microsoft to FIX their so called OS so that, in one fell sweep, the entire ecosystem of anti-virus/anti-spyware companies will have nothing to sell? I know Microsoft cannot possibly do this with their current code base, so the best thing is for them to flush it down the proverbial toilet and adopt Linux. I think a MS Linux can be seen as a welcome thing to the IT space and this will allow them to focus on what they “think” they are good at – office tools, keyboards, mice and xbox. If you have spent almost 30 years trying to build an operating system and are still doing a less than half-baked job, I think it is about time this gets ditched.
