More underhanded tricks MS is doing about ODF and OOXML

At the Open Standards Day event on Wednesday, the MS speaker did a fairly good job in confusing the audience with references to how the MS office suite will be able to implement “read-write ODF 1.1” format. Then he switches to and mentions OOXML in the same breath which, for the unintiated in the audience, it seems that the MS office suite does both ODF and OOXML easily. Incredibily wishy washy I think.

The last bit of FUD was when he spoke about working with the visually handicapped folks about how they are trying to make sure the their MS suite work for those folks. The implied suggestion is that FOSS and OpenOffice.org would not be good enough. Need to call their continued bluff – see this video. No proprietary software was needed.
