I thought TB was well under control. It appears to be resurfacing through mutation into an extremely drug resistant form. I know one of the root causes of TB is smoking and all I can hope for is that smokers WILL stop smoking and save themselves and their families. My Dad was a smoker and although he stopped in 1975, the damage was done and when he passed away last year, he died from another smoking related affliction – COPD.

So, whether you are a smoker or not, please be aware of the new old deadly disease – XDR-TB
