I was particularly pleased with the tool – testdisk[1] – which helped just at the nick of time when I was faced with a USB drive that had it’s partition information accidentally destroyed. Testdisk helped me bring back all of the partitiions and was able to salvage precious photos that would have been lost forever otherwise!
