Been a while …

Did not quite realize that I’ve not been updating the blog. It was all because I had to create a new website and have that eventually be transferred to another admin. Now that process is all completed, I am back to focus here.

Lots has happened in the technology and business space. My last post discussed systems thinking which is still a very critical aspect of how it is a very crucial tool and technique that any entity that is looking to start the process of adopting AI tools need to undertake.

The very nature of genAI tools – them being non-deterministic and entirely probabilistic – requires a very different approach to creation and adoption.

The Anxiety of AI is real and palpable. As is the sheer amount of mis-information, hype and severe lack of understanding.

I had an opportunity to help mitigate some of this and decided to have that be with people I’ve known for a few decades, going all the way back to secondary school. I offered to my cohort a three hour session where I will lay down the history of AI and explain how a 70+ year old technology and idea is now a overnight success. And doing that with a hands on experience to bridge the buzz and hype to something concrete and understandable.

Suffice to say, over a period of 3 weekends, I managed to spend quality time with over 30 of my cohort from all those years ago. If nothing else, it was the first time in over 50 years that we are all in the same classroom doing some learning together.
