It is wonderful to see efforts to introduce bills to mandate the use of FOSS. While I think FOSS is the way anything is to be done, a legally mandating FLOSS is probably not the best way forward. It would be something that I think some countries would have do to do given their state of accountability, but the bigger issue is that when MS goes open source, would this bill be superfluous? Perhaps an expiry date or some clause to test for it’s own validity is needed.
